Description

Antique wood two door shallow cupboard made around 1910 probably. The timber is very similar to pine but is actually a light coloured hardwood of some sort. Two large panelled doors, one with a brass handle, the other having a brass turn button and internal bolt to hold them both shut. Two removable shelves inside. Plinth at the base. Condition is pretty good structurally; it's solid and sound. We've glued and clamped the panels where they'd come apart; not perfectly invisibly but well enough. The panels have shrunk over the years so there are thin marks at the edges (see pics). The rear ends of the side plinths have been cut out to fit a shaped skirting board. The turn button has scored a circular groove on one door (quite like it..); we've moved the button so it works better. Some old marks on the top though we've sanded the worst of that out and waxed it all over. General signs of age: scuffs and scratches etc but nothing too horrid.
